Discover Q92 Noto Hotel: A boutique hotel in the heart of Noto, Sicily

Sunlit historic church towers in Noto, Sicily, with a domed bell tower and green leaves in the foreground against a bright sky

Arriving in Noto on a warm Sicilian afternoon, with temperatures reaching 27 degrees, the city felt beautifully alive, but also hot. After wandering through its sun-drenched Baroque streets, stepping inside Q92 Noto Hotel felt like entering a completely different world:

The temperature dropped, the sounds of the city faded away and one of the first things we noticed was the hotel's signature fragrance. It immediately created a sense of calm and set the tone for the rest of our stay.

First Impressions

Some hotels take time to reveal their character. Q92 Noto Hotel makes an impression almost immediately. We were warmly welcomed by Isabella, who already knew we were arriving. Rather than rushing us through the check-in process, she offered us the choice of settling into our room first or enjoying a welcome glass of prosecco. Small gestures like this immediately made us feel genuinely welcome.

After a short tour of the property, including the breakfast area, the garden and the swimming pool, it quickly became clear that Q92 is unlike most city hotels. It doesn't try to impress through size or grandeur. Instead, it feels like stepping into a beautifully designed private residence hidden in the heart of Noto.

There was something about the interiors that reminded us of another Small Luxury Hotel we love: The Portobello Hotel in London. Not because the two are identical, but because they share the same sense of character, warmth and intimacy.

The Rooms

Our room was spacious, beautifully designed and incredibly comfortable. Located close to the swimming pool and easily accessible from the lobby, it offered the perfect balance between convenience and privacy. Every detail felt carefully considered, from the elegant interior to the relaxing atmosphere that flowed throughout the hotel.

Our favourite feature, however, was undoubtedly the bathtub.

After spending the day exploring the historic streets of Noto, sinking into a warm bath felt like the perfect way to unwind. In fact, it was so relaxing that we almost fell asleep, which probably says more than any list of luxury amenities ever could.

Sometimes the most memorable feature of a hotel room isn't the most extravagant one. It's simply the one that allows you to slow down. For us, that was the bath.

Breakfast

Breakfast was another unexpected highlight of our stay. The selection was far more extensive than we had anticipated from such an intimate boutique hotel. There was an impressive variety of yoghurts, fresh juices and cheeses, smoked salmon, fresh Italian hams, alongside a beautiful selection of nuts and seeds, including chia and pumpkin seeds. We especially appreciated the amount of choice for guests looking for a fresh and healthy start to the day. Rather than offering only the usual breakfast staples, there were plenty of ways to create something exactly to your taste. It felt thoughtful, varied and perfectly suited to the relaxed atmosphere of the hotel. Starting the morning here, surrounded by the calm of Q92 before stepping back into the streets of Noto, quickly became one of our favourite parts of the day.

The Garden & Swimming Pool

Finding a peaceful garden and swimming pool in the centre of a historic city always feels like a luxury. At Q92, it feels like discovering a hidden oasis. After hours of walking through Noto in the Sicilian sunshine, returning to the quiet garden felt exactly like what we needed. Our room was located just steps away from the swimming pool, making it easy to cool down whenever we liked.

What impressed us most was the contrast. Just moments after leaving the bustling streets of Noto behind, we found ourselves surrounded by complete tranquillity. For a boutique hotel in the heart of the city, that balance is truly special.

The Interiors & Atmosphere

Q92 Noto Hotel is full of personality, its interiors combine colour, texture and carefully selected design pieces without ever feeling overdone. Every room feels thoughtfully curated, creating an atmosphere that is elegant yet wonderfully relaxed. More than anything, the hotel feels residential. It's the kind of place where you quickly forget you're staying in a hotel and instead feel like you're visiting a beautifully restored Sicilian home.

Even the smallest details, from the signature fragrance to the quiet corners tucked away throughout the property, contribute to an atmosphere that encourages you to slow down.

Service

From the moment we arrived, the service felt warm, personal and genuine. Isabella welcomed us with sincere hospitality, making us feel expected rather than simply checked in. Being able to access our room early made the start of our stay effortless, while the short introduction to the hotel helped us immediately feel at home.

The early availability of our room was another welcome surprise. Arriving at around 1:00 PM and being able to settle in immediately made the start of our stay feel effortless. Throughout our stay, the service remained friendly, relaxed and attentive, perfectly matching the intimate atmosphere of the hotel.

The Location

One of Q92 Noto Hotel's greatest strengths is undoubtedly its location. Situated in the heart of Noto, you're only a short walk from the city's main street, historic landmarks, cafés and beautiful Baroque architecture. Yet despite its central location, stepping back through the hotel's doors feels like leaving the city behind.

That contrast between vibrant city life and complete tranquillity became one of the things we appreciated most during our stay.

They were the small details, the welcoming glass of prosecco, the beautiful scent throughout the hotel, the hidden garden and the feeling of returning to a peaceful sanctuary after a day in the city.
