Prepare your visit

Every single day of the week, the garden opens its doors for everyone to visit. It's important to keep in mind that the opening hours can vary. During October 1st and April 30th: from 8AM until 6:30PM and during May 1st and September 30th: from 8AM until 6PM. Also, when Ramadan occurs the opening hours are slightly a bit different as well: from 9AM until 5PM.

Our first attempt to visit Jardin Majorelle was in May 2022. What we didn't know was that if you want to visit Yves Saint Laurent Museum and Jardin Majorelle, it's better to order tickets before hand. In this way, you can skip the very long line and you barely have to queue up and wait for maybe 15 minutes up to one hour.

Therefore, our second attempt we made sure to order our tickets online and show up around 8:30 AM. In this way, we didn't have to stand in the line and also could enter within just a few seconds. We highly recommend you to order your tickets online as well and make sure to make an early visit.

About Jardin Majorelle

Orientalist artist Jacque Majorelle is the vision behind the beautiful blue house and garden for over decades. The complete architecture is inspired by the Arab Islamic gardens around his villa. Which is centred around a water basin and contains several types of distinctive plants. Majorelle succeeded in turning the garden into a famously well known destination for many tourists. He has lived in the one-hectare blissful botanical garden and home in Marrakech until he passed away in 1962. The cubist building was named Villa Oasis and he became truly famous. Even that famous, that the particular color within the garden is now referred to as Majorelle blue.

After the death of Majorelle, the French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent bought the entire property and even lived here for a short period. Yves Saint Laurent had saved the Majorelle Gardens from damages, since the real estate lobbies in Marrakech had the intention of demolishing the beautiful garden and replace residential buildings on this spot.

Know your route

It may sounds like common sense, but it's always good to know your schedule for the day. It can get very crowded in Morocco, especially in Marrakech. Although, this may variates from season to season. Therefore, it's better to know you route when going for a visit to the garden of Majorelle. There are a few options when visiting this beautiful place. You can either buy a combination ticket to visit the Yves Saint Laurent museum, Jardin Majorelle and the Pierre Bergé Museum at once or buy separated tickets for a different time/day. These are the prices of the tickets when you buy them online. Keep in mind that the prices can vary, because of the difference in euro and dirhams:

  • Jardin Majorelle: 13,50 EUR

  • Jardin Majorelle and Pierre Bergé Museum: 18,00 EUR

  • Yves Saint Laurent Museum: 11,70 EUR

  • Combination ticket for all: 27,00 EUR
